A Sad Day For America

On January 20, 2001, at 12:00 noon (Eastern Time), I sat, as did millions of other Americans, and watched as our government proceded with the changing of the president.  I was proud as Mr. Bush took his oath of office.  And yes, I was sad as I watched Mr. Clinton board Air Force One for the final time.  It may surprise some of you that this made me sad. But, it was at that moment, as Mr. Clinton boarded the plane and seven U.S. Marines, in full dress uniform and carrying rifles, raised their weapons and fired three times, that I realized just how far America's military had deteriorated under the Clinton Administration.  Even with 21 shots, every last one of them missed.
